Beth Grubb is not just a candidate; she is a beacon of hope for the residents of Missouri. As the upcoming elections draw near, it is crucial to understand why supporting her is essential for the future of our communities. This blog post will delve into her vision, values, and the impact she aims to make as a representative.

My views on the proposed amendments that will be on the August 4,2026 ballot:

Amendment 1

I support Amendment 1, which establishes a sales tax to support soil and water conservation, state parks, and historic sites. These investments benefit our rural farming communities.

Amendment 2

I support requiring a county assessor and mandatory training. Oversight of county funds is essential for taxpayer confidence, and all elected assessors should be properly trained.

Amendment 4

I strongly oppose Amendment 4. It would make the initiative petition process significantly more difficult by requiring a majority vote in all congressional districts. This undermines the ability of citizens to make changes to the constitution.

Missouri’s motto—“Salus Populi Suprema Lex Esto” (“The welfare of the people shall be the supreme law”)—reminds us that the people’s voice must be preserved.

Amendment 5

While no one enjoys paying taxes, they fund essential services like roads, education, parks, and health care. Amendment 5 would eliminate the income tax but allow the legislature broad authority to raise revenue through sales taxes without clear limits.

This could result in significantly higher sales taxes—potentially as high as 20%—and expand taxation to services such as medical care, medications, and everyday necessities. This would disproportionately impact low- and middle-income families while benefiting higher-income individuals. Residents in the large cities would cross state lines to enjoy lower sales tax rates in Kansas and Illinois. This will leave rural residents providing most of the sales tax revenue for Missouri.

The Path Forward

As the election approaches, it is essential to rally behind candidates who genuinely care about their constituents. Beth Grubb represents a fresh perspective and a commitment to making Missouri a better place for all.
